I'm staying on staff!

Hi friends! Thanks so much for reading my monthly updates! I have a couple updates and a super exciting announcement for you this month.

Number one, I'm super excited to announce that I'll be staying on staff after my apprenticeship ends! The plan is to move over to Collin College and stay there for a year, and after that, see what God does. That means that I'll be contacting all of you who support me in the next few months to ask if you'd like to continue to support me throughout next year, so if you want to be praying about that now, that would be amazing. Thank you!

Collin students at Winter Camp earlier this year! These are the people I will get to work with starting in August.

Secondly, I've had a lot of people ask me how I fill up an entire week with ministry, so I wanted to show you what my schedule typically looks like.

Pretty much anything that says "Meet with ___" means I'm meeting up one-on-one with a student or occasionally another staff member. Peer Team is a small group of student leaders. Core is my small group with students. Mondays and Thursdays are our class days. And anything that says Pizza Theology is specific to this week, but that time will normally be filled with class homework or other tasks.

And that leads me right into my last update which was Pizza Theology. I think I mentioned it when we did it last semester. We have a few hundred students from all over our DFW campuses to listen to about four hours of lecture and with a break for pizza in the middle.  This one, though, was even more fun because I got to speak! Our topic was Exodus and my section was on the law.

Speaking at Pizza Theology!

We wrapped up with a Q&A. This is from the very back of the auditorium, so you can see almost all the students that came!

Another one from the Q&A. I just appreciate how much this looks staged cause we're all smiling at each other, but it was a legit candid. We're just that photogenic. 😉

If you're interested in listening to it, here's a link to the audio! Fair warning, the whole thing is a few hours long (my section is 30 minutes and starts at 1:23). Below the audio, there's also a link to the Power Point, and it seriously makes so much more sense with the power point if you want to look at that.

Thank you guys so much for supporting me and reading my updates. I love what I do so much, and you all are a huge part of that.

  1. Hey Abbie! I'm so excited that you are staying on the FOCUS staff. I look forward to seeing how God ministers to those Collin students through you!

Also, I so enjoyed your portion of Pizza Theology. You are an excellent speaker, and you presented a clear and understandable explanation of the role of the Law in the Old Testament that I think really helped our students! Thanks and keep it up!
